Modern, Romantic Bridal Makeup For A Wedding At The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY
There is something to be said about a Hudson Valley Winter Wedding, and everything about this wedding said it for me; modern, rich, and romantic. My bride Katie, alongside her fantastic planner Emily Boziwick Events, put together the perfect event captured by Unique Lapin Photography. From the vibrant, luscious reds popping against the classic black and white color story, to the whispered rays of golden sunlight casting a soft glow onto ceremony, to romantic hurricane candles throughout dinner, and the punchy disco balls decorating the dance floor, this wedding was one for the books.
Set in one of the Hudson Valley’s most iconic historic-industrial event spaces, this couple and their rock-star vendor team put together an event that was both timeless and modern, colorful and classic, romantic and elegant without feeling stuffy.
And naturally, we had to give Katie the dreamiest soft and natural bridal makeup look that we could design.
Katie wore a stunning Alexandra Grecco gown that fit her like a glove. The soft, draping material looked straight out of a golden era film. So incredibly timeless and romantic, we needed to create an equally timeless and romantic makeup look that would match the aesthetic of the event while honoring Katie’s natural features and her personal desire for a natural makeup look that felt like herself, but still made her feel like a radiant, beautiful bride.
How we did it?
Minimal complexion coverage with a soft, radiant finish to emphasize her natural skin rather than covering it
Natural pink-toned blush to add life and glow to her cheeks
A light-medium depth pink-toned shadow with subtle sparkle and softly diffused liner to highlight the eyes and their natural sparkle
A classic pinkish nude lip to add color without competing with the rest of the look
Katie’s stylist, Jennifer Victoria Beauty, did an incredible job sculpting Katie’s chic bob to fit an old Hollywood red carpet. Soft, touchable waves framed her face and added to the timeless, romantic aesthetic.

By using light pink tones in her soft bridal makeup, we tied in the tones from her color story in an understated and intentional way. The subtle shimmers and sparkles layered on her lids added a slightly whimsical sparkling look to her eyes. This romantic bridal makeup didn’t scream at you from across the room- it appeared as she did, not overpowering, just allowing Katie’s natural beauty and happiness to shine first. By keeping the skin soft and glowy, it created the perfect canvas for the candle’s warm glow to highlight her skin throughout the evening.
Overall, Katie’s bridal makeup look was soft, natural, and clean, feminine and radiant, the perfect look to take her through the biggest day.
